Hi guys, so I am getting really excited for Youth Forum to get here. The registrations are starting to come in and all of our resource people are confirmed and life is good! I am especially pleased that Amos Joannides will be joining us Friday night for a special concert. He himself is a Youth Forum Alumni. Joining us as well is the Executive Secretary of the Montreal and Ottawa Conference, Rosemary Lambie, as well as First Nations Elders, Kelly Running Wolf and Havey Gabriel from Kanesatake, QC. We will have an action packed weekend!

November Youth Forum
So... November fast approaches, soon it will be frosty and you will be thinking about Christmas break... I know yikes! But, as we think about Fall coming up, we must also think about Youth Forum! This fall we will meet in Sherbrooke and discuss the very awesome and complex issues surrounding aboriginal rights, and the United Church's relationships with First Nations people over time.. hopefully by hearing stories and discussing and exploring the spiritual side of things, we can expand our horizons and work towards more justice and peace in the world... lofty goals...
Along with the awesome learnings, First Nations speakers and deep conversation we will sing, dance, pray and play together for a weekend you will never forget. I am already getting very excited!
If you have questions about what Youth Forum is, or want to come, or just want to talk, feel free to message me at shanna.bernier@gmail.com
Check it out on Facebook!
The downloadable registration form should be available here soon.

News and intro lifted off the soon to be obsolete website.
To start out, here's a bit of an introduction brought to you by the current planning Team, and a short promo made right after our last forum. What is Yofo? Yofo Promo |
Youth Forum in the Quebec Sherbrooke Presbytery is a tradition which started 4 decades ago, and continues today. We have awesome weekends of young people gathering to discuss ideas, get to know each other and provide a positive space to grow and explore our faith. These events are designed for youth and young adults aged 13 to 20. We also usually have some older young adults providing leadership. We also reach out to other regional events to keep youth in different regions in touch with the wider world. |
Spring 2011 in Richmond: Our Music and Creativity Youth Forum took place in Richmond Quebec in April and was a rousing success. Photos to come soon. Worshiplude: QS youth took a bus trip out to Worshiplude in Ottawa on the weekend of February 11-13. We had a great time hanging out with the youth of Glebe Saint James United Church. Pictures to come soon! Here's Ottawa Presbytery's blurb from their facebook event: "Hey United Church Youth Groups! Come join us in Ottawa for a weekend of winter fun. Skate on the Rideau Canal, visit the Museum of Civilization, watch fireworks, ride ice slides, see international ice sculptors, all as part of Winterlude in Ottawa. On Saturday night, we'll gather together for THE POINT, Ottawa Presbytery's big youth worship gathering. It's a great opportunity to meet youth from across the region and worship in ways that are fun and exciting. And best of all... it's all FREE! All you need to do is get here. We'll even match your group up with a host congregation here in town. Crash in their building, meet youth from their church, and worship together on Sunday morning before you leave. We really hope you'll join us this February for Worshiplude. If you'd like more info, or want to register your group, email us at youth@uccanottawa.org or visit us online at www.uccanottawa.org/YAYA.html" Autumn Youth Forum: On the 5, 6 and 7th of November 2010, we held a forum at the Parkview Elementary School in Granby, and it was an excellent success! This youth forum's theme was Eco-Awareness. Check out our awesome Flash mob filmed on the streets of Granby, Quebec! Also feel free to take a look at the Facebook event: Facebook Event Link Last bit of news for now; Q-S Youth recently made an appearence in a promo video for Rendez-Vous 2011, another event we are super excited about. Welcome
Very soon the Youth Forum Website will come down, and this will replace it. I wanted to create a space for information, stories, comments and photos. The website was cool, but it cost money, where is this is free (Thanks google). I am hoping that this will work well, and hopefully we will provide lots of fun info to continue the valued tradition of Youth Work in the Quebec Sherbrooke Presbytery.
